• Details of the programme
  
  • Linefollower: I. and II. run will be organized before the lunch break, final, 3rd run will start around 14:00
  • Micromouse: All the robots will make their attempts in the maze before the lucnh break. Four best robots will run again afternoon on another maze plan. One additional robot will be choosed by the jury (wild card).
  • Ketchup House: based on the real number of participated robots there will be one or two groups competing each to each. Best 8 robots will participate in the finals organized as knockout competition. With small amount of robots also each to each tournament final is possible.
  • Freestyle: each robot should be presented to public and jury on their places. The jury will choose 3-5 finalist to present their robots to the audience.

  All kinds of visitors are welcomed. Entry free.

• Food
  During the contest between 8:00 and 16:00 there will be a buffet open at the university. It offers cool and warm foods and drinks. Also some drink automats are available. There are some drinks for registered contestants available too.

• Testing
  • April 20th, 2012

  Testing is possible on Friday between 17:00pm to 21:00pm at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologu STU, Bratislava, in the room CD-300.
  Maze, linefollower track and ketchup house will be available for testing. You can also watch your opponents, make clear the rules etc.

  We don't provide any accomodation not the reservation for participants. We can recommend following accomodation for reasonable price. It has got sufficient capacity and it can be easily reached from the contest place also by public transport (bus No. 32).
  

• 25. 2. 2012 What are the prices?
  You can await interesting prices -- today we introduce development kit Spyder. EACH successfull participant in categories Ketchup stock and Micromouse (and maybe others too) will be awarded by this kit.

  Registration for Istrobot 2012 is open. Deadline for registration is April, 1st 2012.
  Don't forget to register in time!

• 20. 2. 2012 Innovations
  Category Linefollower is this year without the doors in the tunnel. Category MiniSumo is discontinued and replaced by the two new categories Ketchup house and Freescale Race Challenge.

Linefollower

The task is to construct an autonomous robot that will complete the racing track and negotiate all its pitfalls. It contains several obstacles - for example a bridge, tunnel to pass through and a brick to be avoided.

Micromouse

The task is to construct a robot that can autonomously solve a maze and achieve the goal in the shortest time. When the robot tracks the right hand wall it will solve the maze, but not in the shortest possible time.

New: Ketchup house

In this category the task is to localize and sort ketchup cans in the storage. Two robots compete, winner is faster and more precise robot.

New: Freescale Race Challenge

The task is to build a slot car, which will fastest run on 10+10 laps on an unknown track. The car used to be fully autonomous.

Freestyle

In this category, competitors are encouraged to demonstrate their robotics creations which do not fit into other categories. The winner is appointed according to the jury judgment.
